Notice – New Accreditation Service : Accreditation Canada
In January 2016, CMA announced they would be divesting accreditation services for allied health educational programs, effective February 1, 2018.
An Allied Health Program Accreditation Working Group was formed to select a replacement accreditation program for those allied health programs accredited by CMA Conjoint Accreditation Services. Following are the members of the AHPAWG.
We are pleased to inform you that Accreditation Canada has been selected to implement an accreditation program for Canadian allied health educational programs that places students at the centre of the assessment process.
We look forward to concluding and signing agreements to move forward with the implementation of a new accreditation process. In the following weeks, Accreditation Canada will be providing more information regarding the new accreditation program, transition plans and program fees will be sent to all educational institutions. In addition, each program can expect a communication from their national association and, if applicable, provincial regulator in the next few weeks to confirm acceptance of Accreditation Canada as the accrediting body for your allied health education programs.
We were pleased to brief the Deans at the Canadian Association of Allied Health Programs meeting to receive their feedback, clarify any questions and address any concerns. We look forward to our continued engagement with the Deans as the program is developed and implemented.
We are committed to ensuring this transition is effective and efficient, and appreciate the signature and return of agreements as soon as possible to ensure that Accreditation Canada is ready to implement the Program by February 1, 2018.
